Dimitris Vogiatzis

I like tech.

About

I think soft skills are as, if not more, important than hard skills. But then again, I am an introvert.I also think most problems can be solved via proper communication. Those that can't, make me sit on my laptop for hours; but the dopamine hit is worth it. Born in Greece, living in Germany since 2013, supporting customers in DACH and beyond.

Experience

Customer Success Technical Architect

Dec 2023 – Present

Confluent (acquired by IBM in 2026)

My goal is that my customers' systems are healthy, secured, and do not cause any headaches. I work together with developers or devOps teams to achieve that. Most of the time I'm just asking "why?".

IT Consultant

Aug 2021 – Nov 2023

Concept Reply

Writing code every day. Nice times.

Co-Founder

Nov 2020 – Mar 2022

Terano Food UG

Co-founded a plastic-free grocery delivery service. I think the idea was solid, maybe slightly ahead of its time. We had razor thin margins, no traction, and a lot of manual labor to manage it on the side.

Research Assistant

Jun 2020 – Sep 2020

Technical University of Munich

I was evaluating map-matching algorithms, and got to code the most terrible data pipeline. Hindsight is a great thing.

Analyst & Working Student

Jun 2017 – Jun 2020

Altran (acquired by Capgemini)

This is where my "enterprise" coding experience started. I developed a hyperledger-based DApp when blockchain was still a thing. Then, together with a good friend, we developed an Android app for truck drivers to do "platooning". Data Streaming could really be used here.

Education

TUM Skills Excellence

Nov 2020 – Oct 2021

Technical University of Munich

I completed some additional lectures from the informatics department during COVID.

MSc, Automotive Engineering

Jul 2017 – Oct 2020

Technical University of Munich

Thesis: RNN-based speed prediction using geospatial data.

BSc, Mechatronics and Information Technology

Oct 2013 – Mar 2017

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

High School, German Abitur

Sep 2007 – Mar 2013

Deutsche Schule Athen

Projects

Streaming Agent Architectures

Collection of agentic architectures implemented for data streaming

Client Side Encryption

Instead of spending tokens for a guessed implementation of a client that uses CSFLE use my (deterministic) code generator.

Tableflow Examples

Getting started with ingesting analytical data into the operational space is not easy. This serves as a solid template to do it. Plus, I plugged trino as a query engine to see what you ingest.

tinyO

This one is still brewing, but will be out soon. (written on 07.06.2026)
